The Bitterroot has come into great shape and is fishing great! Dry fly action is happening and there are March Browns, BWO’s, Skwalas and a few Gray Drakes as well. Skwala/dropper set ups in the morning with Water Walkers, Chubby’s, Miller’s Hi-Viz and Dancing Ricky’s with a Perdigon, Jig Prince, Jig PT or Rubberlegs off the back. In the afternoons cut off the dropper. If there are any fish rising look for BWO’s and March Browns on the water (Bright sun isn’t great for it, but when the clouds are out it will be on fire) Sz 16-18 BWO’s and sz 14 March Browns. If you happen to see Gray Drakes a sz 12-14 will do the trick. Streamer fishing is an option early when the sun is low in the sky or if we get some clouds too.
1/2 off Friday’s are still happening, every Friday all year long. (1/2 off your first dozen dries or nymphs)
