One of the best Spey Rods I have thrown. I have a 14′ 8wt and I absolutely love it. It will throw most lines you put on it very well. But where it really out shines other rods is having a long belly Delta Spey II line. I barely have to put any effort in to casting 140ft out or more. It loads best at the mid-tip and it really makes a difference in your casting. Generally for this rod you have to go one line weight up from what it says, so for an 14′ 8wt rod, you will want to put on a 9wt line. I’m not sure why the Winston TH’s are like this but if your looking for an awesome BOOM STICK, this is the rod to have.
