CURRENT REPORT
The very upper Clarkfork, above Garrision, is still fishable, but water conditions have changed considerably. The Clark Fork is big and off-colored, but those headed upstream on the Clark Fork will find more manageable flows. Nymphing big stonefly nymphs and worms will be the most productive. Prince nymphs and pheasant tails are also a good option to mix into the rotation. Streamer fishing with JJ Specials, Jig Yummy's and Sparkle Minnows is another good option.
Looking Forward
The Clarkfork will be dealing with runoff for a while now. This Saturday, May 17th, is opener for small creeks and tributaries in western Montana! Great time to go check out smaller, clear-colored creeks.
