TRIP DESCRIPTION

The quintessential Montana fly fishing experience! Float and fish one of several exceptional fly fishing rivers for fly fishing near Missoula.

Our Missoula guided float fly fishing trips begin at our Missoula Fly Shop where guests hop in the truck to head to the river. Our float trips consist of floating one of Missoula's high-quality fly fishing rivers like the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, Clark Fork, or the mighty Missouri River. Guests fish from a drift boat or raft and cast to likely holding lays where wild trout are feeding.

All guided Montana fly fishing trips include guiding, personal instruction from an expert Missoula fly fishing guide, transportation from our Missoula fly shop to the river, and all flies used during the trip. Fullday trips include a full shore lunch and half-day trips include snacks.

  • Fish from a drift boat or raft and float one of Missoula's iconic fly fishing rivers like the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, Clark Fork, or Missouri Rivers.
  • Fish with a patient and knowledgeable Missoula fly fishing guide who will safely navigate down river and put you on fish.
  • Catch a variety of species including westslope cutthroat, brown trout, rainbow trout, and more. And if you're lucky, you might run into a Northern Pike.

WHAT TO BRING
  • Appropriate clothing — in the colder months (October-April), bring insulated outerwear and layers, wool socks, gloves, and a wool cap or beanie. In the warmer months (May-September) bring sun protective clothing like sun hoodies or lightweight shirts, a ball cap, and quick dry pants. We wear waders in the cold months but prefer to leave the waders in the truck in the summer months.

  • Guide gratuity (recommended 10-25% of trip cost)

  • Where is the meeting location?
    All of our Missoula guided fly fishing trips meet at our downtown fly shop located at 215 W Front St, Missoula, MT 59802.
  • Do I need a Montana fishing license?
    Yes! You can either purchase your fishing license at our fly shop or purchase in advance at Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Park's online licensing system.
  • What is your guided trip payment policy?
    Guests pay a 50% deposit to secure their dates and the remaining 50% will be charged on the day of your guided trip to the card on file. We accept major card providers, checks, and cash.
  • What is your guided trip cancellation policy?
    100% refund if cancelled at least 14 days before your arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival.
