CURRENT REPORT
Not much has changed on the Clark Fork recently. Water temps starting to cool off, as restrictions have been lifted on the whole river. Still, your best fishing on the Clark Fork now is early in the day, with warmer temperatures in the afternoon turning the bite off.
Starting to see tricos consistently on the Clark Fork. We are still early in this hatch, and trico fishing will only get better on the Clark Fork. Big rainbows will begin to pod-up sipping these pesky little dries early in the morning this month. The best window to catch this hatch is between 8am - 11am. Our favorite tricos are the Tucker's Twiggy, Hanging Midge, Cluster and Hi-Vis Spinner.
Focus on the deeper, quicker water as the day warms up. Best fishing on the Clark Fork will be done dry-dropper fishing. Start with a big foam hopper on top. We like Chubby Chernobyls, Sweetgrass Hoppers, Henneberry Hoppers and Water Walkers.
Subsurface, fish a TJ Hooker, Pats RL, Jig Squirdle, Spanish Bullet or Frenchie. Fish will be congregated in the quicker riffles in the current conditions.
Streamer fishing is a great option in beteween hatches. Sparkle Minnows, Kreelex, Mason's Juniors all getting chased in quick water.

Starting to feel a bit like fall around here. Keep an eye out for cooler temps on the horizon, as our fall dry fly fishing is some of the best of the year!
