CURRENT REPORT
Fishing on the Clark Fork is getting better each day. Goldenstones, PMDs and Yellow Sallies out, with a smattering of caddis in the evening, too. Green Drakes also making an appearance on an overcast day, making for excellent dry fly opportunities!
Best fishing on the Clark Fork will be done with dry dropper fishing. Reach for a big stonefly dry like a Chubby Chernobyl, Water Walker or Fools Gold. For nymphs, we are using TJ Hookers, San Juan Worms, Prince Nymphs, Jig PTs, Jig Duracells, Hot Tag PTs and Jig TNT Nymphs. Lots of fish starting to look up for stoneflies, mayflies and caddis, especially in the evening.
For the dry fly enthusiasts, don't be afraid to mix in some PMD dry flies for those picky risers. We like the Ms. Tickle, Sparkle Flag, CDC Dun and Last Chance Cripple.
Streamer fishing is a great option in beteween hatches. Sparkle Minnows, Kreelex, Goldies and Rusty Trombones.
Looking Forward
Amazing Golden Stone, PMD, Caddis, Yellow Sally and Green Drake hatches have taken place recently. Terrestrials like ants, beetles and hoppers on the horizon. For now, take andvantage of these awesome hatches!
