CURRENT REPORT
The Clarkfork has bumped over the last couple days. Spring fishing on the Clark Fork can be excellent, and it feels like it's just around the corner. The recent weather has made for awesome hatches of March Browns midday, with some skwalas and nemouras inter-mixed.
Still, focusing subsurface has been good with TJ Hookers, Double Bead Stones, Frenchies, Princes, Jig PT's, Duracells and San Juans. Look for fish in the slower inside bends and drop offs, as well as back eddies. You'll find fish rising in the afternoons in these spots, too. The best fishing will be done with a dry-dropper, but keep your dry flies ready. Mayfly dries like the Brindlechute, D&D Cripple and Ms. Tickle are excellent March Brown imitations this time of year on the CF.
Streamer fishing with a Kreelex, Sparkle Minnow or Mini-Dungeon has been good as well. Dead drifitng or really slow stripping them is the way to go.
Looking Forward
The Clark Fork should peak and start to drop in the coming days. Be ready for great spring fishing on the CF soon!
