CURRENT REPORT
Fishing has started to get good on the Clark Fork–– at last! Goldenstones, PMDs, Green Drakes and lots of Caddis hatching now consistently.
Stonefly nymphs like Pat's RLs, Explosion Stones, TJ Hookers and Zirdles working well. Blowtorches, Shuck Its, Frenchies, Jig PTs and Prince nymphs all producing, too.
Focus on the Goldens up top. Dry-dropper fishing has been productive. Chernobyls, Plan Bs, Dancin Rickys and Blackout Stones sizes #08-#12. Look smaller for the trout keyed in on PMDs. Our favorites include the Ms. Tickle, Para-Wulffs, Brindlechutes and Loop-Wing Duns.
Stripping and/or swinging Sparkle Minnows, Kreelex Minnows and Wolly Buggers can also be effective. Fish streamers through the slower water and look for structure.
Looking Forward
Don't forget the Clark Fork this time of year! Often overlooked, June and July on the Clark Fork is special!
